Alameda Beach: Dead Whale Triggers Coordinated Response
This 40-foot gray whale washed ashore in Alameda on April 21, 2025, drawing crowds and launching a multi-agency response. While the cause of death is still under investigation, scientists are using this moment to learn more about ocean health and honor the life of this majestic marine traveler.
